I am not quite sure where you actually get the error message, you just posted the error message and we don′t know in which context this relates to SQL Server.

I cannot connect an application using OLE DB

When I try to make the connection, the following message appears

"Cannot open database requested in login 'DBName'. Login fails."
Err Code = -2147467259

We are using SQL Server 2000 on NT Server 4.0 SP 6.
The client machine has MDAC 2.6 SP1.

All ideas are welcome.

ThanksSounds like the connection to the server has been made but the login cannot open the database. Could be because the database does not exist or because the login does not map to a valid user in the database.
Try just connecting to master.

HelloI am getting this err msg when trying to logon to my website on the web - on my machine there is no prob, An error occurred while established a connection to the server.
When connection to Sql.S 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that
under the default settings sql.s doesn't allow remote connection.
(provider :Sql.S Network interface, error:26- Error Location Server/Interface Specified)(the files path is like in the web host s)

You need to configure the SQL 2005 database for the membership schema. Google aspnet_regsql.exe for help on it.
