I do want Collapsed Columns (+/-) to export in excel.
I have a simple requirement, I do want to show columns in collapsed
mode(with +/-) when it is exported to excel.
i.e I have some groups in report and by default they are in collapsed mode,
so when we click on export to excel, data in excel also shows with +/- which
I don't want.
Any idea how this expected behaviour can be changed for export funtionality ?

SanjayIn a tricky way, you can create a copy of the same report with expanded items.
In your main report create an "Action" and put this report. name the box as
"Save as Excel" ofcourse you need to give in URL access.
Otherwise what you see is what you export.

HW Requirement for SQL Server 2005
it to connect main Server at head office what would be the
configuration of main server for running SQL Server 2005.There are two
database say X and Y at each server at sites A,B,C and D. X requires
37.4 MB memory while Y requires 154 MB memory. 500 records are
populated in X database at each site While 30000 records are populated
in Y database at each site. What would be HW requirement for SQL
Server?
With regards
Ali Raza RajputI'd be more concerned with the connectivity between servers, what latency
will you accept?
It also depends how many users are querying the new server, what's its
purpose?

Now, do you have a centralized server or not? It's not fully clear to
me what you are trying to accomplish but with this "volume" of data
nearly all server hardware will pull this off easily if you don't do
overly complex calculations. As Tony pointed out, network latency is
probably more of an issue here - depending on the connectivity.

Ali Raza RajputHi
Hardware requirements are not just about volumes, other factors need to be
taken into consideration such as response, resilience and recovery. In a
distributed architecture you also need to consider network issues and
connectivity, not just the server on it's own. If you are looking at
replication you should also consider additional hardware if you need to
separate publishers from the distributors. You give no indication of future
volumes or growth rates, this and other unanwered questions make it very
difficult to answer you question. I suggest that you analyse you requirement
s
in more detail and talk to a hardware vendor.
