I dont know How can i upload my sqlserver file to the server
could you help me?
could you write an example code in query analyser for
uploading sql server file to databaseDo you have access to the SQL Server on the server? That is, can you connect to the server from the machine with your SQL Server? If so, you can use DTS (in internet explorer, right click on the database and select Import (or export, depending upon the database you right click on).

I can't start SQL Service
In SQL Server Service Manager, when i start the Sql
Server Service, the service don't start. There is a An
error 5 (Access Denied).
How can resolve it?
Thank for all

Hi,
Did you changed the service startup account or revoked from previleges.
As a solution, Try to start the SQL server with one of the below users and
try, this problm normally comes if the service start up user do not
have permission to access the SQL server registry or some folders.
Domain user who is in Admin group of SQL server machine
or
Change the startup account to Localsystem account
Thanks

i can't login to sqlserver with a username and a password but works with NT integrated security
i have created a username and a password in sqlserver 2000 from logins in Enterprise manager
and i permit him to the database i need to connect to ..
and i check all server roles for that user and i make sqlserver authentication for him with a password and then i goto the udl file to connect to that database using that user it fails !!
"login failed for that user 'myusername' reason not associated with a trusted sqlserver connection"
while i use NT integrated security it works well
so how can i connect to sqlserver using a username and a password
thanks in advance
Hi,
You need to make sure that SQL Server Authentication is set to "SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode". You do this by right clicking on the server name in Management Studio, selecting properties and then clicking on the Security page.
By default SQL Server is installed to use Windows Authentication mode only.
Cheers

I CAN'T CONNECT TO MY SQLSERVER 2000 USING A VPN THROUGH A FIREWAL
a VPN.
In my firewall I opened port 1433 and 1434.
I setup mi Client Network Utility:

If I ping to my server it response very fast (400ms or less), but I cannot
connect using Query Analyzer.
Using the same VPN I can connect to my Unix server using Telnet.

I can't add a new Reporting Services server registration of a remote server.
I need a help.
This is the scenario:
I have installed on my machine SQLServer 2005 Developer but not reporting services because I don't have IIS.
Now there is server: W2003 + SQL Server 2005 Developer (Complete) + II6.
From the SQL Server Management Studio I can connect to the DatabaseEngine on the server but I cannot connect to Reporting Services or Integrated Services.
On particularly when I try to create a new Server Registration and I "Browse" for a server I can see only the local server!!!
Is this a systemistic, configuration issue? Some advice to solve it?
Thank you in advance.
Marina B.
So you have Win2k3 + SQL 2005 Dev edition (SQL engine & RS) + IIS6, correct? Is RS and SQL installed on the same machine? I am still not very clear about your issue. How did you try to connect and what was the error?|||
Hi,
thank you for the answer.
Yes RS and SQL are installed on the same machine (I mean the brand new W2003 server)...
At the end I was able to solve the problem enabling the SQL server Agent and Browser!!
Thank you
Marina B.
sqli cannot start sqlserver's service
As I wrote in the subject I can't STRAT the MSSQLSERVER.
In Event Viewer, of course there are a lot of errors regarding sql server:
so..:
1. Error: 9003, Severity: 20, State: 1
The LSN (5:321:1) passed to log scan in database 'model' is invalid.
2.19012 :
SuperSocket Info: Bind failed on TCP port 1380.
and when I want to start the service from "Services" I receive an error:
"The MSSQLSERVER service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some
services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the
Performance Logs and Alerts service"
Then I start the Performance Logs and Alerts service, but i receive the same
error.
Can somebody help me?
Thanks a lot...
AlexSeems you have a problem with your model database. Do you have a backup of model?

and msdb databases (as they will be scratched during the rebuild). You perform a rebuild using the
rebuildm.exe program. This is documented in Books Online, so make sure that you read carefully about
how the program work before using it. Also, I assume that you have backups of your user databases,
as these will need to be restored after the rebuild. They might not have to be restored, either if
you first restore a backup of your master database or if you don't have a backup of the master
database, you might be able to attach the user database files, but attaching databases is only
guaranteed to work if you first detached them. If you feel insecure about doing above, I suggest you
open a case with MS and let them help you through this process.

database, you might be able to attach the user database files, but attaching
databases is only
guaranteed to work if you first detached them. If you feel insecure about do
ing above, I suggest you
open a case with MS and let them help you through this process.

We don't need no stinking backups! What's a consistency check?
If you are going to be running a system, do some homework and read up on som
e best practices. For this case, for DBAs.
Proper planning can go a long way to save your butt in a pinch.

i cannot start sqlserver's service
Alex
Seems you have a problem with your model database. Do you have a backup of model?

"
An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. (Great screencast Jens)
Raju,
Another things to keep in mind that this error may also be the result of a firewall blocking traffic. Please see the BOL for instructions on configuring the Windows firewall (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms175043.aspx).

HW question to run SqlServer 2k
However, I do have a question I hoped the gurus here could help me out with.
I currently run SQL Server on a desktop calibre box. It is a P3 650Mhz with
192MB and a 10GB HD. This server does double duty as my mail server.
Unfortunately the memory is quite low on this box. :< I'm not too worried
about that as the machine is more of a training box (for me :>) more than
anything.
The new server I got is a P3 350Mhx dual Xeon, with 1GB RAM and six SCSI
RAID 9GB HD. The processor speed is much lower, but it's a dual Xeon and it
has the memory I love.
I'm wondering if I'm indeed very lucky to come into this server, or if I
thought take out the 1GB RAM and put that into my existing server (assuming
I can do that?). I'm new to RAID, SCSI, and Xeon processors. What do the
gurus think about running SQL Server on a box like this? Am I going to get
the same or better performance than on my existing box?
Thank you for any and all comments! :>
PS The box is for my own personal db and email server at home, but I do run
a few websites on it which I would like acceptable performance.

Move the 1GB of memory to the P3 650Mhz? If so, compatibility would depend
on the speed of the memory in both computers.

You did not mention which operating system you are running on either device?
Performance should be generally better on the dual XEON processor with 1GB
memory.

You should be fine with the dual processor machine, RAID gives you fault
tolerance if you loose a drive, so that is an advantage.

PS The box is for my own personal db and email server at home, but I do run
a few websites on it which I would like acceptable performance."Flip" <[remove_me]phenry_w@.hotmail.com> wrote in message

Steve|||re forgot to mention the OS?
Sorry 'bout that, w2k3server with all the patches. I was going to joke
about runnig linux, but I pitched that and "upgraded" a while ago! :> I
broke into the "linux boys club" but didn't like the camaraderie. :< The MS
group seems to be (in general) MUCH more helpful and accepting than the
linux/unix crowd. I konw, I know that's a wide sweeping statement but
that's been my experience with seeking help/assistance/suggestions from
those newsgroups/magazines/etc. :<
re RAID
I was looking forward to the low cost disk space increase too!:>
re should be fine with it
Thank you for your suggestion! :>
Have a good one! :>
